Airtel Africa has unveiled its latest venture, Airtel Africa Telesonic Limited (‘Telesonic’), aimed at delivering cutting-edge fibre bandwidth services to meet the surging demand for wholesale data across the continent.
Leveraging ground fibre assets and submarine cable systems, Telesonic seeks to provide comprehensive terrestrial fibre and submarine cable solutions to businesses and communities in Africa.
The initiative includes plans to establish local entities in key markets where Airtel Africa operates, with a focus on overseeing fibre assets and managing the operational aspects of the wholesale business.
This strategic move is anticipated to have a significant and long-term positive impact on Africa’s quality of life and national economies.

Through its network of over 75,000 kilometres of terrestrial fibre across Airtel Africa’s 14 markets, Telesonic will offer a range of products including national and international leased lines, dedicated internet access, IP and IP transit services, and multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) services.
