MultiChoice  Secures Rights to Broadcast AFCON 2024 Live

MultiChoice, the parent company of SuperSport, has successfully negotiated and secured the broadcasting rights for the upcoming 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) men’s football tournament. The event is scheduled to take place in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13th to February 11th.

The announcement comes after initial concerns were raised when MultiChoice stated that it had not yet obtained the rights to air the tournament. However, in a recent development, the entertainment giant has reached a commercially viable agreement with the rights holders, New World TV (NWTV).

Rendani Ramovha, CEO of SuperSport, expressed the company’s delight in being able to bring the excitement of African football to viewers. This news is particularly reassuring for football fans who were initially uncertain about the availability of AFCON 2024 matches on SuperSport channels.

NWTV Managing Director, Nimonka Kolani, emphasized the significance of the Africa Cup of Nations, labeling it as the biggest football competition on the continent. The collaboration between SuperSport and NWTV in securing the rights reflects a commitment to delivering top-tier football coverage to African audiences.

As part of the agreement, SuperSport will broadcast all 52 matches of AFCON 2024 on DStv and GOtv across the African continent. This ensures widespread access for football enthusiasts to follow the tournament and enjoy the live action, showcasing some of the best talent in African football.

With the rights now secured, MultiChoice is set to provide comprehensive coverage of AFCON 2024, bringing the thrills and excitement of the tournament to millions of viewers across Africa.
