Zambia and France Strengthen Bilateral Ties with Declarations of Intent

President Hakainde Hichilema, underscoring the enduring friendship and cooperation between Zambia and France, extended a warm welcome this morning to Madam Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, French Secretary of State in charge of Development, La Francophonie, and International Partnerships.  

The discussions covered a diverse range of topics, with a particular focus on Zambia’s ambitious goal of connecting the country from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean through strategic trade corridors, such as the Lobito Corridor. This vision aligns with Zambia’s commitment to regional integration and economic development.

As a testament to the strength of their collaboration, President Hichilema and Madam Zacharopoulou formalized their commitment by signing Declarations of Intent in various areas. The agreements encompassed crucial aspects such as people-to-people relations and cultural ties, reflecting the shared values and mutual interests of both nations.

President Hichilema expressed optimism for the future, emphasizing the importance of continued strong relations between Zambia and France. The Declarations of Intent signal a commitment to deeper collaboration and partnership in various sectors, fostering a positive and mutually beneficial relationship.
