Lusaka City Council Urges Residents to Maintain Cleanliness to Prevent Cholera Spread
The Lusaka City Council (LCC) is making a fervent appeal to the residents of Lusaka to prioritize cleanliness in their homes and surroundings as a proactive measure to curb the spread of cholera.
In a statement issued by Nyambe Bulumba, LCC Acting Public Relations Manager, the Ministry of Health has reported one fatality linked to cholera and identified 11 more cases within the city.
In response to this situation, Lusaka City Council is urging community members to uphold stringent hygiene standards within their homes and environs, as this is paramount in averting the spread of this potentially dangerous disease.
The Lusaka City Council remains dedicated to its mission of maintaining a clean, green, and healthy urban environment to prevent various diseases associated with uncleanliness.
Measures such as the removal of street vendors from public spaces and the upkeep of drainage systems are currently being pursued by the Local Authority to ensure the city remains clean and safe.
It is crucial for the public to work in tandem with these efforts for the collective well-being of the community. The Lusaka City Council will continue its collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the public to successfully contain the spread of cholera.
