Emirates Seeks Experienced Captains for Airbus Fleet Expansion

Emirates Airlines, known for its world-class service, is actively recruiting experienced Airbus captains as it expands its wide-body fleet to meet growing demand. The airline is inviting seasoned commanders to join its Direct Entry Captains program, focusing on the Airbus A380 aircraft.

Emirates has initiated a global recruitment drive and is offering opportunities for interested pilots and their families to learn more through online info sessions and open days in select locations.

The Direct Entry Captains program is designed for technically skilled captains with a minimum of 3,000 hours of recent command experience on Airbus fly-by-wire wide-body aircraft, including the A330, A340, A350, and A380. Candidates are required to have a total flying time of at least 7,000 hours on multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft, among other eligibility criteria.

Emirates is renowned for its professional and rewarding working environment, boasting a strong community of over 4,200 flight crew members, including 1,515 A380 pilots. The airline’s wide-body fleet is one of the youngest and most advanced globally, featuring iconic Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. Emirates will be adding A350s to its fleet in mid-2024 and 777-9s in 2025.

Emirates pilots enjoy diverse assignments, from regional routes in the Middle East to ultra-long-haul and cross-polar flights, making for exciting and varied schedules.

The airline places a strong emphasis on pilot training, investing in state-of-the-art facilities and programs. A new high-tech pilot training facility, set to open in March 2024, will further enhance training capacity with additional full-flight simulators.

Emirates also provides access to various non-technical training programs at the Emirates Aviation College and Emirates Aviation University.
