Emirates Expands Operations in Australia with Additional Flights and Upgraded Services
Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has unveiled plans to bolster its presence in Australia with strategic upgrades to its flight services.
The announcement includes the introduction of double daily A380 flights to Brisbane and the reinstatement of a second daily flight to Perth, signaling a significant commitment to meeting the growing demand for international travel.
Starting from 1 October, Emirates will upgrade its second daily flight EK430/431 between Dubai and Brisbane to an A380.
The enhanced service aims to provide passengers with a superior travel experience, offering more seats and reinforcing Emirates’ status as a key player in connecting Australia to global destinations.
The A380 flight to Brisbane is scheduled to depart Dubai at 0230hrs and arrive in Brisbane at 2220hrs, with the return flight departing Brisbane at 0155hrs and arriving in Dubai at 1005hrs, all local times.
In addition, a second daily service between Dubai and Perth will be reintroduced starting from 1 December, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.
This move is expected to enhance connectivity to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, offering passengers more seamless travel options. Emirates flight EK424 to Perth will depart from Dubai at 0915hrs, arriving in Perth at 0005hrs the following day. The return flight, EK425, will depart from Perth at 0600hrs and arrive in Dubai at 1310hrs, all local times.
Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates, expressed satisfaction in providing more choices and opportunities for Australian travelers. The airline’s commitment is evident in the convenient schedules and comfortable connections to and through Dubai, promoting diverse opportunities for business, leisure, and cultural experiences.
Gert-Jan de Graaff, Brisbane Airport Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the positive impact of the A380 upgrade on Brisbane’s international connectivity, praising Emirates as a vital contributor to the city’s aviation landscape.
The Western Australian Government Acting Tourism Minister, John Carey, hailed the announcement as a crucial step in rebuilding the state’s aviation capacity, showcasing Perth’s global reputation as the Western Gateway to Australia.
Scott Woodward, Perth Airport’s Chief Operating Officer, welcomed the additional daily service, highlighting its significance in adding substantial capacity to the Perth market and boosting international visitor numbers.
Through these strategic enhancements, Emirates aims to increase weekly capacity to Australia by an additional 6,900 seats, meeting the growing demand for international travel and supporting Australian businesses.
Passengers can expect more convenient air connectivity and a seamless travel experience through Dubai to the airline’s extensive global network of over 140 destinations.
