Chitambo District Celebrates Empowerment Milestone with Grants and Loans Distribution
The Chitambo District witnessed a transformative moment as the Youth and Women Empowerment Initiative, under the Chitambo Development Fund (CDF), distributed substantial grants and loans to 75 deserving individuals on Friday, November 24th.
In an official statement released by Rodrick Nyirenda the Public Relations Officer at Chitambo Town Council, the event, graced by the District Commissioner, Mr. Evans Chola, marked a significant step towards uplifting the lives of the community’s youth and women.
A total of K3,135,000M in grants and K2,588,456.50M in loans were awarded to recipients during the ceremony. The District Commissioner, Mr. Evans Chola, commended the initiative, expressing gratitude to President Hakainde Hichilema for implementing policies that are now manifesting as tangible benefits for the people of Chitambo.
Mr. Chola, serving as the guest of honor, urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the resources provided by the government for their intended purposes.
He also encouraged unity and collaboration with the government, emphasizing that more development initiatives are in the pipeline for Chitambo.
Council Chairperson, Mr. Brian Mwelwa, highlighted the positive impact of the Chitambo Development Fund’s empowerment program.
He assured the community that the local authority is committed to unbiased distribution, ensuring that CDF funds uplift the lives of all Chitambo residents without discrimination.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, recipients of the grants and loans pledged to utilize the funds responsibly, acknowledging the support provided by President Hakainde Hichilema’s government. The empowerment initiative aims to spur economic growth and create sustainable opportunities for the youth and women of Chitambo.
The handover ceremony drew the participation of esteemed guests, including Council Secretary Mr. Mwiche I Mudala, and several senior government and security officials.
