Minister of Health Launches SmartCare Pro Electronic Health Records System in Chongwe District
The Minister of Health, Hon. Sylvia T. Masebo, MP, officiated the national launch of the SmartCare Pro Electronic Health Records (EHR) system in Chongwe District on November 21st, 2023. The event marked the unveiling of the latest and improved version of SmartCare, an advanced EHR system that aims to transform healthcare services across Zambia.
In her remarks, Hon. Sylvia T. Masebo expressed delight in launching the cutting-edge SmartCare Pro in Chongwe, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to the convergence of technology and healthcare.

SmartCare, which started as an HIV-specific data collection tool over 15 years ago, has evolved into a comprehensive EHR system that significantly contributes to clinical decision-support and improves healthcare service delivery.
