Zambian Exhibitors Shine at AGOA Forum, Impressing Hon. Chipoka Mulenga
The Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, emphasized the critical role of the private sector in the Zambian economy during his visit to the 20th African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Forum held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The private sector, he noted, plays a vital role in job creation, fostering economic growth, and driving innovation.
In the official statement issued by Tamara Nyirenda, First Secretary Press and Public Relations of Zambia High Commission to South Africa, Hon. Mulenga expressed his delight at the impressive showing of Zambian exhibitors, who displayed various products and services at the AGOA Forum Expo.
In addition to showcasing products, Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Ms. Mazuba Monze, underscored the government’s commitment to providing a conducive platform for the private sector to operate effectively.
She emphasized the government’s recognition of the private sector as a crucial partner in the country’s development.
The High Commissioner noted that the expo offered a unique opportunity to promote and sell Zambian products to the world, while also creating lasting partnerships, fostering networking, and sharing knowledge.
Ms. Ethel Mwambazi Kandiwo, the Public Relations and Marketing Manager at 260 Brands Zambia, expressed her satisfaction with the company’s participation in the expo.
The AGOA Forum provided them with an opportunity to showcase their products and explore new markets beyond Zambia.
“We have invested in state-of-the-art facilities that enable us to produce quality plant-based beverages and foods meeting international standards. We are proud to be the producers of Zambia and Africa’s very first plant-based juice blend, NutraSip,” she enthused.
AGOA is a mutually beneficial trade and investment partnership that has strengthened trade relations between African eligible countries and the United States.
It has encouraged the development of regional value chains and fostered intra-Africa trade and development.
The theme of this year’s AGOA Forum is “Partnering to build a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive AGOA to support economic development, industrialization, and quality job creation.”
The event provided an excellent platform for Zambia to highlight its entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and commitment to sustainable economic development.
