German President Steinmeier Embarks on Historic State Visit to Zambia
In a groundbreaking announcement, Hon. Stanley K. Kakubo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation revealed today that His Excellency Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the esteemed Federal President of the Republic of Germany, is set to embark on a historic State Visit to the beautiful nation of Zambia.
According to Hon. Kakubo, the much-anticipated visit is scheduled to take place from the 1st to the 2nd of November, 2023.
Mr. Kakubo emphasized that during this monumental occasion, President Hakainde Hichilema of the Republic of Zambia and President Steinmeier will engage in substantive bilateral talks.
He said that the discussions at the heart of these talks are poised to focus on an array of critical issues that hold immense mutual significance for both countries.
The Minister said that these include, but are not limited to, collaboration in vital sectors such as water and sanitation, agriculture, Small and Medium Enterprises development, energy, trade, and investment.
Notably, Mr. Kakubo also emphasized that President Steinmeier will pay visits to several projects that have received substantial support from the German Government.
According to Mr. Kakubo, one of the highlights of this visit will be the witnessing of the signing of a pivotal agreement between the Department of Water and KfW Development Bank, set to take place in the picturesque setting of Livingstone.
