ZDA Backs Luapula Expo to Attract Local and Foreign Investors
The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has expressed full support for the upcoming Luapula Province Investment Expo, scheduled for April 2026 in Mansa District.
In line with its mandate to promote and facilitate investment, trade, and business development, ZDA regards the Expo as a strategic platform that complements national efforts to accelerate inclusive economic growth, drive provincial industrialisation, and attract both local and foreign direct investment.
Speaking on the occasion, ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa highlighted Luapula Province’s vast and underutilised economic potential, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, mining, tourism, renewable energy, manufacturing, and value addition.
“The Expo presents a vital opportunity to showcase these investment prospects, present bankable projects, and connect investors with viable opportunities supported by Government policy reforms under President Hakainde Hichilema,” Mr Halwampa stated.
He added that as the Government’s frontline investment promotion agency, ZDA will engage investors, provincial authorities, traditional leaders, and the private sector to provide technical guidance and support, aimed at converting investment interest into tangible projects.
ZDA will also actively participate in the Expo by highlighting Zambia’s improved investment climate, incentives, aftercare services, and facilitation mechanisms designed to ease the cost of doing business.
Initiatives such as the Luapula Province Investment Expo are crucial in decentralising investment promotion and unlocking regional value chains. ZDA commended the Luapula Provincial Administration and all stakeholders for spearheading the initiative, urging the private sector, cooperating partners, and investors to participate fully.
The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Luapula Province and partners to ensure the Expo delivers concrete investment outcomes, job creation, and sustainable economic development for the people of Luapula and Zambia at large.
