Zambia and Türkiye Reaffirm Commitment to Cooperation in Luanda

Zambia and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation following a high-level engagement between their ambassadors in Luanda.

In a statement, the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Luanda said that H.E. Rev. Dr Elias Munshya, Zambia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Angola, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Muhammet Mustafa Çelik, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Angola, on 7 January 2026.

The meeting formed part of Ambassador Munshya’s introductory courtesy calls following his assumption of duty in Angola and was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.

Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, including closer mission-to-mission collaboration, regional economic opportunities and Zambia’s strategic engagement in the Lobito Corridor initiative, which is aimed at enhancing regional trade, logistics and connectivity.

The two envoys also exchanged views on broader infrastructure development and economic cooperation priorities within the region.

During the meeting, Ambassador Çelik congratulated Ambassador Munshya on his appointment and conveyed his best wishes for a successful tour of duty in Angola.

The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia said it looks forward to sustained engagement with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Luanda in support of Zambia’s diplomatic and economic diplomacy objectives.
