Emirates Orders 8 More A350-900 Jets Worth US$3.4bn at Dubai Airshow
Emirates has strengthened its long-term fleet strategy with a fresh order for eight additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, valued at US$3.4 billion at list prices, unveiled today at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
The announcement raises the airline’s total commitment to the A350-900 to 73 units, of which 13 have already entered service. The newly ordered aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2031.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said the A350’s entry into service last November had delivered “welcome additional capacity”, enabling the airline to offer more customers its latest inflight products, including Premium Economy.
He added that Emirates’ expanding orderbook represents “a massive investment in our future… and the future of aviation in terms of job and value creation.”
The announcement follows Emirates’ major order earlier this week for 65 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, bringing the airline’s total investment in new wide-body aircraft at the 2025 Airshow to US$41.4 billion. In total, Emirates now has 375 wide-body aircraft on order — one of the largest commitments in the global aviation industry.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice-President Sales, welcomed the renewed confidence from Emirates, describing the A350 as “a benchmark for long-haul travel.” Rolls-Royce also celebrated the order, noting that the airline’s continued trust underscores the performance and durability of the Trent XWB-84 engines.
Emirates’ A350 programme supports tens of thousands of high-skilled manufacturing jobs across Europe, contributing significantly to aerospace supply chains in France, Germany, the UK, Spain and other partner nations.
