Zambian President Mourns Passing of Kenyan Statesman Raila Odinga

Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, extending condolences to the people of Kenya, the Odinga family, President William Ruto, and all those affected by his death.

In a heartfelt statement, President Hichilema described Odinga as a “towering advocate for democracy, a fearless voice for justice, and an unwavering servant of the people,” whose life and work inspired generations across Africa.

He praised Odinga’s contributions to the continent, highlighting his role in advancing constitutional reforms, championing inclusive governance, and fostering dialogue during times of national crisis. 

“His legacy will endure,” President Hichilema said, urging citizens to honour the former Prime Minister’s memory by reflecting on his tireless service to the people.

The Zambian leader also offered prayers for all those grieving, wishing that Prime Minister Odinga may rest in eternal peace.
