ZAMBIA CELEBRATES MUSICAL LEGENDS AT UPCOMING CONCERT
Brand-Line Africa and Smooth Production Insight have officially announced the lineup for the Zambian Music Legends Concert, scheduled to take place on September 30, 2023, at the Polo Grounds.
Five legendary Zambian musicians, namely General Ozzy, Angela Nyirenda, Moses Sakala, James Chamanyazi, and Leo Moyo, will headline the event. The concert aims to celebrate these iconic artists who laid the foundation for modern-day music in Zambia and showcase the rich history and significance of the unique sound of the 90s and early 2000s.
Luyando Yoyo Ngwenya, the Managing Director of Brand-Line Africa, emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating Zambian music as a vital part of the nation’s cultural heritage.
Smooth Production Insight’s Managing Director, Innocent Kalaluka, expressed his excitement about the project, stating that it aims to reignite the love for original Zambian music.
Music icon Moses Sakala, of the renowned Sakala Brothers Music Band, praised Brand-Line Africa and Smooth Production Insight for honoring the legendary Zambian musicians. He expressed his hope that the initiative would become an annual event, providing a great platform to showcase Zambian musicians.
The concert will feature additional performances by popular artists such as Mampi, Nasty D, Izrael, Nalu, and JK. Supporting artists include Choklet, Haamoba, Shatel, Ty2, Sista D, Maureen Lilanda, Ruff Kid, Tommy Dee, MC Wabwino, and James.
This musical extravaganza promises to be an unforgettable experience, celebrating Zambia’s rich musical heritage and showcasing the immense talent within the country’s music industry.
