FNB Zambia Foundation Boosts Early Childhood Education in Luanshya

The FNB Zambia Foundation has officially handed over a newly constructed Early Childhood Classroom and Ablution Block to Kamirenda Primary School in Luanshya.

The donation, which includes both a classroom and ablution facility, is designed to support early childhood education with child-friendly, safe, and inclusive infrastructure. The project reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to inclusive development and the power of shared prosperity.

The addition of ablution blocks will significantly improve hygiene and sanitation standards, creating a healthy learning environment for young learners. This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which ensures access to clean water and sanitation for all, while also advancing SDG 4 that promotes inclusive and equitable quality education.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Copperbelt Provincial Minister Elisha Matambo commended the Foundation for its contribution to education development. “This is not just a handover of buildings; it is a handover of hope. The Ministry appreciates FNB Zambia Foundation’s dedication to creating opportunities through education. Today’s gesture reminds us that shared prosperity begins with the child,” said Mr Matambo.

Foundation Board Chairperson Linire Mulima highlighted the long-term vision behind the initiative. “The donation of this classroom and ablution block is more than an act of corporate citizenship; it is a strategic investment in Zambia’s early childhood development. We believe this is where shared prosperity truly begins. When young minds are nurtured from the start, communities thrive, and when communities thrive, we all thrive,” she said.

FNB Zambia Chief Executive Officer Ms Kapumpe Chola added that the Foundation’s work goes beyond financial services. “At FNB Zambia, we believe banking is more than financial services. It is about building futures, investing in people, and fostering shared prosperity. Through the Foundation, we are ensuring our contributions create lasting impact in the communities we serve,” she said.

The donation forms part of the Foundation’s broader strategy to create impact in key areas such as education, health, water and sanitation, and climate action, all aimed at building a more resilient and equitable Zambia.
