Proflight Zambia to Go Fully Cashless from November 2025
Proflight Zambia, the nation’s leading scheduled airline, has announced that it will transition to a fully cashless payment system from 1 November 2025, with the exception of its Headquarters Sales Office in Lusaka where cash will still be accepted.
The airline says the move is designed to streamline operations, strengthen security, reduce the risk of fraud, and provide passengers with a faster and more seamless experience. It is also in line with the Bank of Zambia’s drive to promote a cashless economy, as well as international best practice across the aviation and travel industries.
From November, customers will be able to pay conveniently for flights and related services using cards (Kwacha and US Dollar), mobile money platforms, bank deposits, and other approved digital channels.
To ensure a smooth transition, Proflight Zambia is encouraging passengers to set up and familiarise themselves with the available digital payment options ahead of time. The airline’s Commercial and Finance teams will be working closely with stations and sales offices in the coming months to expand digital channels and provide additional support to customers.
“This transition reflects Proflight Zambia’s ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and putting the customer first,” said Captain Josias Walubita, Proflight Zambia’s Director Flight Operations. “Going cashless makes transactions safer, faster, and more efficient, while also supporting Zambia’s journey towards a modern, digital economy.”
Proflight Zambia reaffirmed that its focus remains on safety, reliability, and exceptional customer service, and the introduction of a cashless system underscores its ambition to become a modern, digitally enabled airline serving Zambia and the wider region.
