Natural Kurls Launches “Community Level Up Project” to Celebrate Hair and Culture

Natural Kurls, one of Zambia’s leading natural hair brands, hosted its Community Level Up Project at CBTO this week, bringing joy, confidence, and cultural pride to young girls in the local community.

Founded by Mrs Chanda Kaka Mwale, Natural Kurls has grown from its Lusaka roots to four branches nationwide, including one in Ndola. The initiative formed part of the broader Level Up Campaign running from 15 August to 1 September 2025.

Activities included free hairstyling, protective hairstyles, mentorship sessions, and a shared meal, reinforcing the message that hair is more than a style, it is a crown and a symbol of dignity.

“As we prepare to move our head office and main Olympia branch to a new location, it’s important that we bring our community with us,” said Chanda Kaka Mwale. “Natural Kurls has always been rooted in culture and people. This project is a reminder that when we level up, we all rise together.”

The event highlights Natural Kurls’ dedication to uplifting the communities that have supported its growth. Excitement is building ahead of the official unveiling of the new branch on 1 September 2025, which will feature competitions, giveaways, and other activations.
