Liquid Intelligent Technologies Celebrates Customer Excellence and Digital Innovation in Zambia
Liquid Intelligent Technologies has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Zambia’s digital future by hosting a high-profile event themed “Celebrating Customer Excellence and Technological Advancement in Zambia.”
The gathering brought together entrepreneurs, industry stakeholders, government officials, and partners to reflect on the company’s milestones and recognize individuals and institutions driving innovation across the country.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Chipota Mutati, Permanent Secretary Eng. Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu delivered an inspiring keynote that highlighted the real-life impact of connectivity.
He shared the story of a young entrepreneur from a rural village outside Mansa who created a digital payment platform to help market vendors transact safely. Today, her platform serves thousands of users, powered by the infrastructure provided by Liquid Intelligent Technologies.
Dr. Habeenzu said this was the kind of transformation being celebrated—everyday Zambians using technology to build businesses, empower communities, and reshape the digital landscape.
He noted that from fintech innovations in Lusaka to agritech solutions in Chipata, and youth-led startups in Kitwe and Ndola, the energy for innovation is growing steadily and is driven by courage, creativity, and access to connectivity.
He applauded Liquid Intelligent Technologies for playing a crucial role in this ecosystem. The company has laid over 5,000 kilometers of fibre optic cable across Zambia, established robust cloud infrastructure, and partnered with the government on key digital initiatives, including the effort to connect schools to the internet. This has transformed learning environments and provided new opportunities for students to access digital education.
Dr. Habeenzu emphasized that the government, under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, remains committed to creating an inclusive and innovation-led economy. He cited several national programs such as the Smart Zambia Initiative, which has digitized more than 80 public services, reaching over 3 million citizens.
Other strategic interventions include the implementation of the Digital Transformation Change Management Strategy (2023–2026), tax incentives to attract ICT investment, and the creation of free Wi-Fi pilot zones in more than 100 underserved communities.
He noted that these efforts are already yielding results, with Zambia’s tech startup ecosystem registering more than 150 new enterprises in the past year. Significantly, 65 percent of these startups are led by youth under 35 years old, and 31 percent are led by women. Dr. Habeenzu said this proves that talent knows no gender and innovation knows no boundaries.
In conclusion, Dr. Habeenzu commended Liquid Intelligent Technologies for creating a platform that not only supports business but uplifts people.
He stated that the company is powering Zambia’s digital transformation and helping build a future where every citizen, especially youth and those in rural areas, can benefit from the opportunities of the digital age.
