Zambia Showcases Potential on National Day at Osaka Expo 2025
Zambia proudly marked its National Day at the ongoing World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, with a vibrant celebration showcasing the country’s culture, economic potential, and commitment to global partnerships.
Officiating the commemorative event on behalf of President Hakainde Hichilema, Minister of Tourism Hon. Rodney Sikumba emphasized Zambia’s dedication to innovation, inclusive development, and climate-resilient growth under the global Expo theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
“Zambia’s participation at this Expo is not only symbolic of our strong diplomatic ties but also demonstrates our firm belief in shared prosperity and the power of innovation to improve lives,” said Hon. Sikumba.
Speaking at the Zambia Pavilion, the Minister spotlighted key sectors transforming Zambia’s economy—including renewable energy, value-added agriculture, green industrialization, tourism, sustainable mining, and digital innovation.
He also highlighted the country’s strategic position as a trade gateway in Southern Africa.
In line with Zambia’s Expo sub-theme, “Connecting Lives for a Sustainable Future,” Sikumba invited global investors and development partners to explore opportunities in Zambia, stressing the country’s openness to transformative collaboration.
The celebration featured captivating cultural performances, traditional cuisine, and exhibitions that reflected Zambia’s identity and ambitions on the global stage.
The Ministry of Tourism extended gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their hospitality, and to all participants who helped make Zambia’s National Day a resounding success.
