Zambia Unveils Permanent Pavilion at China-Africa Expo to Boost Exports
Zambia has launched its first-ever Permanent Pavilion in Changsha, Hunan Province, aimed at strengthening trade ties with China and enhancing the country’s export revenue.
The milestone event took place on the sidelines of the ongoing China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), where Zambia’s Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, MP, praised the Chinese government for granting African countries duty-free access for agricultural products.
Hon. Mulenga described the Pavilion as a vital tool to showcase Zambian goods—both agricultural and manufactured—to the Chinese market.
“This initiative is not a one-off event. It is a permanent platform that will promote Zambian products, attract investment, and enhance people-to-people ties,” he said.
He also thanked the Hunan Provincial Government for its continued support and expressed confidence that the Pavilion will increase Chinese awareness and appreciation of Zambian exports.
The Minister emphasized the Pavilion’s role in enterprise engagement, trade promotion, and investment facilitation between Zambia and China, noting it aligns with Zambia’s broader goal of economic diversification through non-traditional exports.
Hon. Mulenga is leading a high-level delegation to China, including Deputy Secretary to Cabinet for Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Siazongo Siakalenge, and Zambia’s Ambassador to China, Mr. Ivan Zyuulu.
Held under the theme “China-Africa Together Towards Modernisation,” the bi-annual CAETE Expo brings together ministers, investors, and business leaders to strengthen economic partnerships between China and African nations.
