ZDA and Standard Chartered Bank Partner to Bolster Investment Promotion Ahead of IZIC 2025
The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and Standard Chartered Bank have entered advanced discussions aimed at enhancing investment and trade promotion in Zambia, with a focus on the upcoming Invest Zambia International Conference (IZIC) slated for July 16–18, 2025, in Lusaka.
ZDA Director General, Mr. Albert Halwampa, met with Standard Chartered Bank CEO, Mr. Sonny Zulu, to explore collaborative strategies to market Zambia’s vast business potential.
Mr. Halwampa officially invited the financial institution to partner with ZDA in promoting investment opportunities via platforms such as IZIC, a premier business event designed to attract both local and international investors.
“Our goal is to make IZIC the flagship investment event of the year, drawing the attention of serious investors to Zambia’s promising sectors,” said Mr. Halwampa. “Through events like IZIC, ZDA continues to position itself at the heart of Zambia’s business growth agenda.”
In response, Mr. Zulu affirmed Standard Chartered Bank’s commitment to supporting the conference and Zambia’s broader investment landscape. “Investors are a mutual point of interest for both ZDA and our bank,” he said. “Beyond offering diverse financial solutions, we help facilitate global transactions — a crucial factor for today’s investors seeking ease and efficiency.”
Mr. Zulu also emphasized the need to streamline business registration processes to boost investor confidence, particularly in underperforming yet high-potential sectors such as energy.
The three-day IZIC 2025 conference will convene policymakers, business leaders, and international investors in Lusaka to explore opportunities across Zambia’s key economic sectors.
Both ZDA and Standard Chartered Bank expressed optimism that the partnership will yield long-term economic benefits and contribute positively to Zambia’s GDP.
