Zambia Tourism Agency, Zambian Breweries Partner to Boost Mosi Day of Thunder Festival
The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) has officially partnered with Zambian Breweries to amplify the impact of the Mosi Day of Thunder Festival, one of the nation’s most vibrant cultural and tourism events.
This year’s edition is expected to attract over 10,000 local and international visitors, further positioning Zambia as a leading travel destination in Southern Africa.
The annual festival celebrates Zambia’s rich culture, music, and natural heritage, offering an immersive experience near the iconic Victoria Falls. It has become a key event in the tourism calendar, bringing significant attention to the country’s tourism offerings.
ZTA Acting CEO Amanda Mwendaweli Chipungu hailed the partnership as a strategic move to strengthen domestic and international tourism. “The Mosi Day of Thunder Festival is a significant part of our strategy to reposition Zambia as a must-visit destination in Southern Africa,” she said. “By showcasing our unique offerings, we are paving the way for future tourism growth and placing local communities at the heart of this development.”
The event will also serve as a platform to reignite the “Take a Holiday YAMULOKO” campaign, aimed at promoting domestic travel among Zambians. ZTA reiterated that cultural festivals like this play a vital role in stimulating local economies, supporting artisans and entertainers, and driving tourism arrivals—part of its broader goal to reach 2.2 million visitors by the end of 2025.
