Fashion Sakala Announces Expanded 2025 Provincial Cup, Budget Set for Release
The highly anticipated Fashion Sakala Provincial Cup is set for a major expansion in 2025, with the tournament now featuring separate competitions for men’s and women’s football, alongside additional rural tournaments aimed at unearthing hidden talent.
Fashion Sakala, the Zambian international footballer behind the initiative, has confirmed that the official budget for the 2025 tournament will soon be released, paving the way for increased participation across Eastern Province.
“This tournament is about creating opportunities for young players to showcase their talent, gain exposure, and elevate their chances of playing at a professional level,” Sakala said.
The initiative follows the successful launch of the inaugural Fashion Sakala Football Tournament in Chipata in June 2024, which saw overwhelming community support. Sakala is now calling on the public to share their experiences and provide input on how to make the 2025 event even more impactful.
With the theme “Dreams Don’t Die”, the tournament is expected to further cement its place as a crucial talent development platform for Zambian football.
