Emirates Expands Flights to Madagascar to Meet Growing Demand

Emirates has announced an expansion of its flight services to Madagascar, increasing from four to six weekly flights starting 2 April 2025.

The decision follows the successful launch of operations to the island nation in September 2024 and reflects strong demand for both inbound and outbound travel between Antananarivo and Dubai.

The announcement was made at a press conference in Antananarivo, attended by officials from Madagascar’s Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Tourism, alongside Emirates representatives.

Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ Senior Vice President for West Asia and Indian Ocean, highlighted the economic and tourism benefits: “Enhancing services strengthens economic ties, boosts tourism, and supports trade. By offering better connectivity, we contribute to Madagascar’s development and local business growth.”

Madagascar’s Minister of Transport, Dr. Manambahoaka Valéry F. Ramonjavelo, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion, while Minister of Tourism Viviane Dewa welcomed the additional connectivity as a step towards the country’s target of one million tourists by 2028.

The enhanced services, operating on all days except Mondays, will utilize Emirates’ Boeing 777 aircraft, offering both passenger and cargo capabilities. Tickets are available on Emirates’ platforms and through travel agencies.
