Zambia Takes Bold Steps to Modernize Human Resource Management Systems
Zambia is set to enhance public service delivery and operational efficiency with a groundbreaking initiative to modernize and harmonize its human resource management systems.
At a workshop held in Lusaka today, SMART Zambia’s Acting National Coordinator, Mr. Mulomba Hameja, underscored the transformative power of digitization. “The modernization of human resource systems is no longer a choice but a necessity,” he stated. “By adopting digital solutions, we can improve the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of HR data, ultimately enhancing service delivery to our citizens.”
The workshop focused on aligning two HR systems under development with Zambia’s broader digitization goals. The key objectives include creating a unified HR management platform, addressing specific institutional requirements, and integrating these systems for cohesive functionality across ministries and agencies.
This initiative forms part of Zambia’s larger digital transformation agenda, championed by programs like the Smart Zambia Institute, which is steering the adoption of electronic governance solutions.
As the country leverages technology to improve governance and boost economic growth, Zambia’s commitment to building a more efficient, effective, and responsive government remains evident.
