Zambians Urged to Adhere to South African Immigration Regulations

Zambia’s Acting High Commissioner to South Africa, Ms. Inonge Mwenya, has issued a strong appeal to Zambians traveling to and from South Africa to comply with immigration regulations to avoid legal complications.

The High Commission in Pretoria has reported an increase in Zambians facing challenges entering or leaving South Africa due to incomplete or improper documentation. Ms. Mwenya expressed concern over cases where individuals lack work permits or overstay their visas, despite the Mission’s efforts to provide guidance on immigration requirements.

“Adhering to immigration laws is not only a legal obligation but also reflects Zambia’s respect for the host country and its laws,” Ms. Mwenya stated. She urged travelers to stay informed on visa requirements, renewals, and any updates to immigration policies.

Ms. Mwenya encouraged individuals encountering difficulties to seek assistance through official Mission channels, highlighting the High Commission’s readiness to address genuine concerns.

“Let us work together to build a positive image of our community and contribute to the rich diversity that South Africa offers,” she added.

The Mission emphasized that compliance helps maintain goodwill between Zambia and South Africa, ensuring Zambians can live and work without fear of legal repercussions.
