Zambia’s Tourism Industry Welcomes New Luxury Addition

Gobal hospitality brand Minor Hotels has announced its plans to open the Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp within the next seven months. This luxury eco-camp will be nestled in the heart of Kafue National Park, Africa’s largest and most biodiverse protected area, and is set to transform Zambia into a premier destination for high-end travelers.

The camp will join Minor Hotels’ prestigious Anantara portfolio and become the second property under the brand in Zambia, alongside the Avani Victoria Falls Resort. This venture underscores the country’s rising appeal as a global tourism hotspot, combining sustainable practices with unparalleled safari experiences.

This investment is expected to generate employment, stimulate local businesses, and support conservation initiatives. Minor Hotels’ CEO Dillip Rajakarier emphasized the group’s commitment to sustainable development:

“We are excited to expand in Zambia, a country brimming with potential. By blending luxury with sustainable tourism, we aim to elevate Zambia’s tourism landscape while preserving its natural heritage.”

The tented camp will feature eco-friendly accommodations, gourmet dining, bespoke safari tours, and initiatives that immerse guests in Zambia’s unique culture and conservation efforts.

The Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp complements Minor Hotels’ recent launch of the Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe. Together, these projects aim to position Southern Africa as a must-visit region for eco-luxury tourism.
