Emirates Welcomes First Airbus A350 to Its Fleet
Emirates has reached a significant milestone with the delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft, A6-EXA, marking the airline’s entry into a new era of aviation. This delivery is the first of 65 A350 aircraft to be received over the coming years, making it the largest A350 fleet outside of Europe. It also signifies the first new aircraft type to join Emirates since 2008.
The A350 was officially handed over to Emirates yesterday in Toulouse and began its ferry flight to Dubai at 16:00 local time. Aviation enthusiasts can follow its journey in real-time on Flight Radar 24.
Upon arrival in Dubai, the aircraft will undergo final touches at Emirates Engineering before a formal unveiling later this week.
In line with Emirates’ commitment to sustainability, the delivery flight was powered by a blend of traditional jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The A350 will begin commercial operations in January, with Edinburgh as its inaugural destination. The airline plans to expand its network with the A350 to include 8 additional destinations across the Middle East, West Asia, and Europe.
