PDV Steel Plant Commissioned in Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry on 7th November, marked a significant milestone with the commissioning of the Powerful Diligent Veracious (PDV) Metals Limited Steel Plant, located in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone (LSMEFZ). 

The event was graced by Republican President Mr. Hakainde Hichilema and Acting Minister of Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Hon. Paul Kabuswe MP.

Hon. Kabuswe emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to policies that foster socio-economic transformation, including the development of Special Economic Zones nationwide to attract vital investments. 

He noted a promising increase in investor interest across diverse sectors like agriculture, agro-processing, mining, tourism, and now, steel manufacturing.

“This steel plant exemplifies the Ministry’s efforts to create a conducive environment for business and foreign investment. We are determined to attract investments that contribute meaningfully to Zambia’s economic landscape,” said Hon. Kabuswe.

The PDV Steel Plant’s establishment highlights Zambia’s growing industrial sector and the country’s appeal to both local and international investors, underscoring a collective vision for socio-economic development and industrial growth.
