President Hichilema Congratulates Donald Trump on Election as 47th U.S. President

President Hakainde Hichilema has extended Zambia’s warm congratulations to the Government and people of the United States of America on the election of Donald Trump as the 47th President. 

President Trump’s return to office, having served previously as the 45th President, was celebrated as a testament to the trust and confidence placed in him by the American people.

President Hichilema reflected on the “historic achievement” of Trump’s second election to the highest office, acknowledging the robust democratic values that underscore the United States’ political system. 

The President noted the enduring respect for the free will of American citizens to choose their leaders, praising the strength of the U.S. democratic tradition.

Hichilema also recalled Trump’s solidarity during Zambia’s political struggles, expressing gratitude for his support during challenging times when Hichilema was in the opposition. 

This foundation of goodwill, he emphasized, lays a strong basis for future cooperation.

“We look forward to deepening our ties and continuing our bilateral efforts to strengthen relations between Zambia and the United States,” stated President Hichilema.
