Emirates Resumes Daily Flights from Dubai to Edinburgh
After a four-year hiatus, Emirates Airlines has relaunched its direct flights between Dubai and Edinburgh. The inaugural flight, greeted by the renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, marks a strong return to Scotland’s capital, which becomes Emirates’ eighth UK destination.
Emirates now offers 14 weekly flights to Scotland, including a daily A380 service to Glasgow. This expanded service enhances connections to popular long-haul destinations like Thailand and Australia, and increases options for travelers to explore Dubai.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the importance of the Scottish market: “The UK is a critical market, and we’re delighted to reinstate our presence in Edinburgh. Our Scottish customers can expect an elevated experience aboard the Boeing 777, with the A350 coming soon.”
Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Executive, Gordon Dewar, echoed the enthusiasm, emphasizing the benefits for both leisure and business travelers, and highlighting Emirates’ award-winning Premium Economy and Business Class cabins set to debut with the A350.
The service is expected to support Scotland’s tourism, which saw 4 million international visitors in 2023, by connecting Edinburgh to Emirates’ global network of 140 destinations. Additionally, Emirates SkyCargo will enhance trade capabilities, allowing for up to 16 tonnes of cargo per flight, benefiting industries exporting goods like whisky, salmon, and shellfish.
Emirates continues to set industry standards, securing top awards this year, including ‘World’s Best Airline’ by Telegraph Travel. For more information or to book tickets, visit emirates.com.
