Ministry of Education Emphasizes Integrity in 2024 End-of-Year Examinations – Kamoko
Zambia’s Ministry of Education has issued a firm call to all stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of integrity as the 2024 end-of-year examinations are underway.
Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Mr. Joel Kamoko, highlighted the critical role that parents, guardians, educators, and other stakeholders play in ensuring the smooth running of Grade 7, 9, and 12 examinations across the country.
In a statement from his office in Lusaka, Mr. Kamoko emphasized the legal and moral responsibility of all parties involved to avoid any illegal practices that could compromise the examination process.
He stressed the importance of credibility and fairness in the national education system, stating that credible examinations are essential to evaluate whether learners are adequately prepared to meet Zambia’s social and economic needs.
The Ministry, in collaboration with the Examination Council of Zambia, is determined to maintain integrity throughout the exam period.
Mr. Kamoko commended educators for their hard work in preparing both the examinations and the learners for this crucial period. Grade 7 students began their exams on the 28th of October, Grade 12 exams are set to commence on the 4th of November, and Grade 9 exams will start at the end of November.
Mr. Kamoko encouraged parents, guardians, and educators to support students by ensuring they arrive at school on time and that facilities meet necessary sanitation standards.
He also urged vigilance from all examination facilitators, calling on candidates to give their best effort.
“The examination period is upon us, and I call upon all stakeholders to remain supportive, ensuring all students have a conducive environment to excel,” said Mr. Kamoko.
