Govt Committed to Boosting Qualified Healthcare Workforce – Mubanga
Zambia’s Acting Health Minister Elias Mubanga has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the availability of skilled health workers in medical facilities across the country.
Speaking at the first combined graduation ceremony for Lusaka, St. Luke, and Kafue Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery, Mr. Mubanga emphasized that the graduation of over 850 health professionals brings hope for the country’s healthcare delivery system.
He encouraged graduates to serve wherever they are deployed, particularly in rural areas where healthcare services are critically needed.
Mubanga’s remarks highlight the New Dawn Government’s resolve to strengthen the national healthcare infrastructure by ensuring a better distribution of qualified medical professionals.
Lusaka Provincial Health Director, Dr. Simulyana Choonga, praised the collaboration among the colleges, noting that the ceremony signifies the success of inter-institutional cooperation.
The graduates include 536 from Lusaka College, 196 from St. Luke’s Mpasha College in Rufunsa District, and 142 from Kafue College of Nursing and Midwifery.
