ZRA Launches Tax Incentives Bulletin to Support SMEs
The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has officially launched the Tax Incentives Bulletin, a comprehensive document detailing various tax incentives beneficial to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Zambia. The launch event was attended by senior ZRA management, members of the press, and other stakeholders.
The Commissioner General, in his remarks, expressed the importance of the Tax Incentives Bulletin, highlighting its role in promoting economic development.
“It is with great pleasure and privilege that I stand before you today to launch the Tax Incentives Bulletin, a pivotal document that outlines various tax incentives, particularly those beneficial to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Zambia,” he said.
Tax incentives, he noted, are crucial for spurring investment and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. By offering targeted tax incentives, the government aims to stimulate growth, drive innovation, and create employment opportunities, ultimately contributing to the overall advancement of the economy.
The ZRA is tasked with implementing these incentives and assisting the government in monitoring their performance.
The Tax Incentives Bulletin serves as a comprehensive guide for businesses, providing valuable information on the various tax incentives available to them. “It is a collection of all incentives provided for in the various pieces of tax legislation,” the Commissioner General stated.
He emphasized that the bulletin reflects the government’s and ZRA’s commitment to supporting and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in Zambia, which is vital to the nation’s prosperity.
Recognizing the crucial role of local businesses, especially SMEs, in the economy, the Commissioner General stressed the importance of creating an environment where they can flourish.
“Through these tax incentives, the government seeks to alleviate the financial burden on taxpayers, especially SMEs, allowing them to reinvest and expand their operations,” he said.
He encouraged all stakeholders, including business owners, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders, to take the time to read the Tax Incentives Bulletin and fully take advantage of the incentives outlined therein.
In conclusion, the Commissioner General extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the development of the Tax Incentives Bulletin.
He expressed confidence that the bulletin would serve as a catalyst for positive change, paving the way for a more vibrant and robust business landscape in Zambia.
“With these remarks, I now officially launch the Tax Incentives Bulletin. May God bless you all. Thank you,” he concluded.
