Ministry of Education Seeks Private Sector Partnerships During North-Western School Tours

Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Joel Kamoko, has emphasized the importance of private sector partnerships in enhancing the provision of education across Zambia. 

Mr. Kamoko’s remarks came during a tour of schools operated by Educore Services in the North-Western Province.

Mr. Kamoko highlighted the government’s deliberate prioritization of education, recognizing it as a catalyst for national development. 

He expressed his satisfaction with the standards observed at the Educore schools, advocating for such excellence to be replicated in public schools nationwide.

“We have reformed the school curriculum to ensure that it provides the required competences and responds to the developmental aspirations and goals of the country. To make this a reality, we want to partner with institutions such as Educore Services in implementing the reformed curriculum,” said Mr. Kamoko.

The tour, which included visits to Trident College Solwezi, Trident Preparatory School Kalumbila, Sentinel School Kabitaka, Sentinel School Kalumbila, and Frontier School Nkisu, was conducted at the invitation of Educore Services.

Andrew Whittal, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Educore Services, shared his organization’s vision of developing people through education and expressed a strong desire to collaborate with the government.

“Educore Services looks forward to partnering with the government in the education sector. Our work aims to foster prosperity and national development,” said Mr. Whittal.

Educore Services was established through a partnership with First Quantum Minerals to develop educational institutions in the North-Western Province. The organization has founded six schools, offering education from nursery to grade 12, and also operates a teacher training college.

The schools under Educore Services include Educore Teachers Academy, Trident College Solwezi, Trident Preparatory School Solwezi, Trident Preparatory School Kalumbila, Sentinel School Kabitaka, Sentinel School Kalumbila, and Frontier School Nkisu.
