LCC Condemns Attack on Fire Truck During Rescue
The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has strongly criticized the vandalism of a fire truck by residents in Matero.
This happened when firefighters were responding to a house fire in the Shadracks neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.
Despite their efforts to put out the fire, some people threw stones at the fire truck, forcing the firefighters to stop for safety.
The LCC said it’s unacceptable to attack council workers who are doing their job to help the community.
Chola Mwamba, the LCC’s Public Relations Manager has emphasized that those who provide essential services should be respected and able to work without fear.
The fire brigade’s main job is to save lives and protect property during emergencies.
The LCC appealed to all residents to avoid violence and destruction towards council workers and property.
The general public is urged to work together to keep both private and public property safe for everyone in Lusaka.
