Proflight Zambia Elevates Northern Province Accessibility Ahead of Ukusefya Pa Ng’wena Festival
Proflight Zambia has taken a significant stride in enhancing regional connectivity by ramping up its flight frequency to Kasama, now offering three flights per week.
This strategic initiative aims to bolster accessibility to Northern Zambia, particularly in anticipation of the forthcoming Ukusefya Pa Ng’wena festival slated for August.
The expanded flight schedule entails direct flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, departing from Lusaka at 07:45hrs and touching down in Kasama at 09:20hrs.
Return flights from Kasama to Lusaka are scheduled for 09:50hrs, arriving at 11:25hrs. Additionally, seamless connections from Ndola are provided each morning, departing at 06:30hrs and arriving in Kasama at 09:20hrs, with return flights departing Kasama at 09:50hrs and landing in Ndola at 12:45hrs.
With Kasama being a pivotal provincial capital, this increased air connectivity promises a swift 1-hour 35-minute direct flight.
Captain Josias Walubita, Director of Flight Operations, expressed, “In response to increasing demand and to better serve our passengers, Proflight Zambia will now offer flights to Kasama three times a week. This enhancement ensures more convenient travel options to the Northern Province, reflecting our commitment to meeting the needs of both business and leisure travelers.”
The timing of this service expansion is especially significant as it aligns with the upcoming Ukusefya Pa Ng’wena festival, an annual celebration of the Bemba people’s rich cultural heritage.
Held in August at Ng’wena village, the festival showcases traditional dance performances, captivating storytelling, and authentic Bemba cuisine, offering a vibrant immersion into Zambia’s cultural tapestry.
Captain Walubita emphasized Proflight’s aspiration to introduce travelers to the allure of Northern Zambia’s natural wonders, from breathtaking waterfalls to the serene Lake Tanganyika.
