Zambian Agribusiness Good Nature Agro Makes FT’s List of Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies
Good Nature Agro, a Zambian company focused on empowering smallholder farmers, has been recognized by the Financial Times (FT) as one of Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies of 2024. The company ranked 44th on the prestigious list, making it the only Zambian company in the top 50.
This achievement highlights Good Nature Agro’s consistent growth in the legume seed and commodity business. They have not only expanded their operations but also significantly increased the income of over 20,000 smallholder farmers they partner with.
The company is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Founded in 2014 with just 40 farmers, Good Nature Agro has grown to encompass all provinces in Zambia and expanded its reach to Malawi.
They boast two processing plants, a seed breeding program, a digital platform for farmer engagement, and a workforce exceeding 175 employees. Additionally, they are building a state-of-the-art export facility in Lusaka.
Good Nature Agro is much more than just a commercial enterprise. Co-founder and CEO Carl Jensen expressed pride in the company’s role in uplifting smallholder farmers and showcasing the potential of Zambia’s agricultural sector.
He attributes their success to the dedication of farmers, staff, investors, and partners.
Beyond Zambia, Good Nature Agro has spent the last three years strategically focusing on becoming a regional hub for legume seeds and commodities in Southern and Central Africa.
They currently export high-value beans, soybeans, and groundnuts to food processors in South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. Their ambitions extend to the Eastern African region as they seek to expand their production and supply network.

Good Nature Agro joins fellow Zambians, Zamseed (#91) and Zambeef Products (#113), on the FT’s prestigious list. The list, compiled in collaboration with Statista, recognizes Africa’s thriving businesses driving the continent’s economic growth in the 21st century.
