Zambian Breweries Reduces Prices on Select Mosi and Eagle Products

Zambian Breweries Plc has announced price reductions on selected products within its Mosi and Eagle portfolios, following improvements in the economic environment and operational conditions.

Easing inflation, relative stability in the foreign exchange market, and improved energy availability have enabled the company to adjust prices. More stable power supply has strengthened brewing operations and reduced production volatility, while government policies continue to support affordability and long-term industry sustainability.

Thais Cavinatto, Country Director of Zambian Breweries, said the move demonstrates the company’s commitment to responsible corporate stewardship and national partnership.

“When the operating environment improves, the benefits should reach the consumer. This price rollback reflects our commitment to affordability, communities, and Zambia’s economic progress,” she said.

Ms Cavinatto highlighted the significance of the Mosi and Eagle brands. “Mosi embodies national heritage and local industry. Eagle supports thousands of Zambian cassava farmers and rural households. Improving affordability strengthens these connections and promotes local economic activity.”

The company also stressed that affordable pricing helps curb illicit alcohol consumption, which accounts for about 72 percent of total alcohol use in Zambia.

“Keeping Eagle and Eagle Extra accessible helps reduce illicit trade, protect public health, and safeguard domestic revenue,” Ms Cavinatto said.
