Emirates Charity Auction Raises AED 8.8 Million for Children Worldwide

The Emirates Airline Foundation, in partnership with Emirates Auction, has raised AED 8.8 million (approximately USD 2.4 million) to support humanitarian programmes for underprivileged children around the world.

The funds were generated through a month-long charity auction held between 17 December 2025 and 17 January 2026, which featured seven rare Emirates Skywards membership numbers with Platinum tier status. The auction attracted more than 900 bids from participants across 131 countries, with the highest single bid reaching AED 1.6 million. Two bidders secured 20-year Platinum memberships, while five others won 15-year memberships.

Top bidders came from a wide range of countries, including the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, India, the United States, Pakistan, France, Germany, Egypt and Thailand, reflecting strong global support for the initiative.

All proceeds from the auction will be directed towards launching new humanitarian projects and expanding existing programmes supported by the Emirates Airline Foundation. The Foundation currently works with 14 non-governmental organisations across nine countries, supporting vulnerable children through access to education, healthcare, nutrition, housing and vocational training.

Following the success of the inaugural auction, the Emirates Airline Foundation and Emirates Auction announced that the initiative will become an annual event, providing a recurring opportunity for supporters worldwide to contribute to the Foundation’s work.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline and Chairman of the Emirates Airline Foundation, said the initiative was designed to explore innovative ways of expanding the Foundation’s impact.

He described the response as extraordinary, noting that the proceeds would enable the Foundation to partner with more organisations, reach new communities and strengthen programmes already transforming the lives of hundreds of children across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, Abdullah Matar Al Mannai, said the results demonstrated the power of collaboration, innovation and purpose. He reaffirmed Emirates Auction’s commitment to supporting charitable and humanitarian initiatives, particularly those with a global outlook such as the Emirates Airline Foundation.

Operating under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Emirates Airline Foundation is the official charitable arm of Emirates Airline. Since its establishment, the Foundation has completed more than 50 projects, with the majority of donations going directly towards programmes that support children in need.
