$7 Million Hits the Ground in Zambia–Ghana Tech Partnership
Zambia has secured approximately US$7 million in confirmed transactions following the Zambia–Ghana Business Dialogue Forum, signalling a shift from diplomatic engagement to tangible economic results.
Speaking during a cocktail event after the forum, Minister of Technology and Science Felix Chipota Mutati said the investment was a direct outcome of Zambia’s deliberate Open Door Policy, which is designed to attract and fast-track strategic investments, particularly in technology.
“We are not just talking. Capital is already on the ground,” Mutati said, noting that Zambia is simplifying procedures to enable seamless collaboration between Zambian and Ghanaian technology companies.
The forum also strengthened bilateral cooperation in energy and digital innovation, with Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel George, expressing interest in learning from Zambia’s technology-driven energy solutions.
Hon. Mutati added that, together with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Rodney Sikumba, the government is advancing a holistic Branding Zambia initiative aimed at positioning the country as a leading technology hub in Africa.
In a further sign of deepening ties, Zambia committed to leading a technology delegation to Ghana in September 2026 to consolidate partnerships and expand investment opportunities.
Hon. Mutati thanked the Ghanaian delegation for what he described as “a productive three-day engagement,” and called on tech innovators from both countries to take advantage of the open investment climate.
“The door is open. Let us build the future of Africa together,” he said.
