Zambia Opens Lone Palm Lodge to Boost Luxury Tourism Near Victoria FallsZ

Zambia’s luxury tourism sector is set to receive a major boost with the opening of Lone Palm Lodge, a boutique luxury camp located along the Zambezi River, approximately 16 kilometres upstream of Victoria Falls. The lodge, part of The Ultra Portfolio, is scheduled to welcome guests in mid-2026, enhancing high-end, sustainable travel experiences in one of Southern Africa’s most iconic destinations.

The lodge’s strategic location provides privacy and exclusivity while offering access to the falls and surrounding wildlife corridors. By situating the property away from crowded viewpoints, Lone Palm Lodge caters to high-net-worth travellers seeking tranquillity, scenic landscapes, and immersive nature experiences.

Designed as a boutique facility, the lodge will feature ten luxury tents, seven of which overlook the Zambezi River, while three offer views of an on-site dam. Each tent comes with indoor and outdoor showers, blending contemporary comfort with an immersive natural environment. Children aged six and above can be accommodated on request, allowing multi-generational travel without compromising exclusivity.

Shared amenities will include two open-air firepits, a riverside swimming pool, a breakfast deck, lounge, bar, and restaurant overlooking the river. Wellness offerings, such as yoga, sound therapy, and in-room spa treatments, will form a central pillar of the guest experience, reflecting growing demand for wellness-led luxury tourism.

Guests will also enjoy curated experiences, including Zambezi River boat cruises and guided game drives, designed to provide exclusive encounters with wildlife in a controlled, high-quality environment. These experiences are intended to increase per-guest spending, length of stay, and overall tourism yield, supporting Zambia’s goal of attracting premium travellers.

Sustainability has been integrated into the lodge’s design, with solar-powered operations reducing environmental impact and limited internet access encouraging digital disconnection. This eco-sensitive approach aligns with global luxury tourism trends, which increasingly value responsible and authentic engagement with nature.

Lone Palm Lodge is expected to strengthen Zambia’s position in the Southern African luxury travel market, generating employment in guiding, hospitality, wellness, and conservation, while creating economic linkages with local suppliers of fresh produce and artisanal goods.

The lodge’s opening reflects growing confidence in locally driven premium tourism investment and contributes to Zambia’s long-term destination positioning by fostering resilience, profitability, and authenticity in the high-end hospitality sector.

Lone Palm Lodge is set to debut in mid-2026, offering a unique, sustainable, and experiential luxury travel experience that aligns with Zambia’s strategy of promoting low-volume, high-value tourism.
