ZUFIAW Announces 15% Pay Rise for Zanaco Employees
The Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers (ZUFIAW) has announced a 15 percent salary increase for all unionised employees at Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco) for the year 2026, following the successful signing of the 2026–2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The agreement was concluded after what both parties described as constructive and cordial negotiations, reflecting a shared commitment to improving employee welfare and overall well-being.
ZUFIAW President Marina Kabonga praised the negotiating teams from both ZUFIAW and Zanaco for their professionalism, cooperation and mutual respect throughout the bargaining process.
She was accompanied at the signing ceremony by the union’s Deputy General Secretary for Organisation and Recruitment, Christabel Mukefuwa.
Speaking at the event, Zanaco Acting Chief Executive Officer Kalengo Simukoko reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to placing employees at the centre of its growth strategy and long-term sustainability.
ZUFIAW reiterated its commitment to safeguarding workers’ interests and promoting a progressive, supportive and empowering working environment for its members at Zanaco.
