Emirates Renews Naming Rights Sponsorship of Emirates Team New Zealand Ahead of 38th America’s Cup
Emirates has renewed its long-standing naming rights sponsorship of Emirates Team New Zealand, extending one of the most enduring partnerships in international sailing ahead of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup and all associated preliminary regattas.
The renewed agreement continues a partnership first established in 2004, spanning more than two decades of elite competition and innovation. Most recently, the collaboration was marked by Emirates Team New Zealand’s victory in Barcelona in 2024, where the team secured a historic third consecutive America’s Cup defence, a feat never before achieved in the competition’s history.
Under the new deal, Emirates will remain Lead Sponsor of Emirates Team New Zealand, retaining naming rights alongside its designation as Official Airline and Carrier. The Emirates brand will continue to feature prominently on the team’s AC75 yachts, including the mainsail and hull, as well as on chase boats, tenders, team bases and crew uniforms.
The sponsorship also includes extensive visibility across Emirates Team New Zealand’s digital, social media and live event platforms, in addition to international broadcast coverage and official team materials.
As Defender of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup, scheduled to be held in Naples in 2027, Emirates Team New Zealand’s recent success provides a strong platform for Emirates’ continued involvement in the sport, reinforcing a shared commitment to leadership, technical excellence and sustained high performance.
This fifth renewal of the naming sponsorship reflects a partnership built on mutual values of innovation and excellence. Over the years, the collaboration has supported advancements in high-performance yacht design and foiling technology, alongside Emirates’ leadership in global aviation and customer experience.
Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark said the longevity of the partnership was a testament to shared ambition and values. He praised Emirates Team New Zealand’s unprecedented third consecutive America’s Cup victory, describing it as the result of an uncompromising pursuit of excellence.
Emirates Team New Zealand Chief Executive Grant Dalton welcomed the renewal, saying the airline’s continued support provides confidence as the team prepares to defend the Cup once again. He noted that Emirates has remained a committed partner through both successes and challenges since 2004.
The upcoming America’s Cup will feature AC75 class yachts, with the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Selection Series determining which team will face Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup Match. Further details on the competition schedule and venues are expected to be announced in due course.
The sponsorship renewal also underlines Emirates’ long-term commitment to New Zealand, where the airline has operated since 2003. Emirates currently offers daily A380 services to Auckland and services to Christchurch via Sydney, as well as A380 flights across the Tasman.
Beyond Emirates Team New Zealand, Emirates continues to support sailing globally through high-profile partnerships, including the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team, and its involvement in major international regattas, contributing to the growth and global reach of the sport.
