Haimbe Reaffirms Strong Zambia–UAE Relations During Abu Dhabi Talks
Zambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, S.C., MP, has reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations between Zambia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during high-level meetings held in Abu Dhabi.
The meetings, which took place on Sunday, 4 January 2026, were held with the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nabyan Al Nahyan.
During discussions with Sheikh Abdullah, Honourable Haimbe conveyed warm greetings from President Hakainde Hichilema to the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He highlighted the already strong bilateral and trade relations between the two countries and expressed Zambia’s desire to further broaden and deepen cooperation in the coming years.
The talks focused on enhancing collaboration across a wide range of sectors aligned with the development priorities of both nations, with the aim of advancing shared interests and mutual prosperity.
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening development partnerships with Zambia that contribute to economic growth and the well-being of citizens in both countries.
Honourable Haimbe was accompanied by Zambia’s Ambassador to the UAE, Professor Nkombo Muuka, and Counsellor at the Zambian Mission in Abu Dhabi, Mr Yimbilanji Sichone.
