Zambia Advances Preparations to Host CEIIF 2026
Preparations are well under way for Zambia to host the 2026 Continental Energy and Infrastructure Investment Forum (CEIIF), marking the first time the country will stage the high-level event.
CEIIF brings together governments, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to stimulate energy and infrastructure investment across Africa. The forum supports wider continental goals, including sustainable energy development, regional integration, industrialisation, and infrastructure expansion.
Progress updates were shared when CEIIF Chief Executive Officer and South African Electro Technical Export Council (SAEEC) convener, Evans Chiboni, led a delegation to brief Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Her Excellency Ms Grace Mutembo. He was accompanied by CEIIF Finance Manager Melissa Rodrigues and Nthabiseing Dube.
High Commissioner Mutembo emphasised the strategic significance of CEIIF 2026 for Zambia’s economic transformation. “By hosting one of the key editions of the forum, Zambia positions itself at the centre of Africa’s energy and infrastructure investment dialogue,” she said.
She noted that the gathering presents an opportunity for the country to secure investment, strengthen regional partnerships, and accelerate its transition toward an energy-secure, industrialised, and interconnected economy.
Scheduled for 2–5 February, CEIIF Zambia 2026 will feature a Business Forum spotlighting investment opportunities, as well as the Africa Energy Colloquium, which will explore skills development, critical minerals, and reflections on coal and other energy sources within Africa’s evolving energy landscape.
Delegates will also tour major infrastructure and energy sites, including the Maamba Energy Expansion Project, the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone (LS-MFEZ), and the Kafue Gorge Power Station.
Having previously profiled more than US$2.3 billion in potential projects across the continent, CEIIF is expected to further elevate Zambia’s standing as a competitive investment destination.
