Ecentric’s 2025 Black Friday Dashboard is Live
In 2024, the Bureau of Market Research found that November 2024 contributed more than R88 billion in economic value to South Africa’s wholesale, retail and fuel sectors thanks to Black Friday. The spend across just three of the country’s major banks was more than R30 billion on the day itself. In 2025, these figures are expected to be even higher[1].
The Ecentric Black Friday Dashboard is set to keep an even closer eye on these developments in 2025, and this year it will be live for the entire week prior to Black Friday, providing extensive real-time payment insights during what’s set to be the country’s biggest Black Friday yet.
The Black Friday Dashboard will be open for retailers, journalists and analysts from today until Cyber Monday, 1 December 2025, providing access to real-time online and in-person retail payments data that reflects the millions of transactions processed by Ecentric.
The interactive dashboard offers industry stakeholders visibility into key industry data, which includes year-on-year comparisons of transactions and value spend, payment trends, changes in consumer spending and buying behaviour in 2025.
The data offers an invaluable look at consumer trends and spend based on Ecentric’s significant market share. The company processes 20% of South Africa’s card transactions and serves as a trusted payments partner to 65% of the JSE listed retailers, serving their in-store, online, mobile and omnichannel payments requirements. The platform makes it easy and affordable for customers to transact on their preferred channels and supports organisations wanting to make the most from the Black Friday and Cyber Monday retail rush.
