Zambia to Host Global Celebration of Culture at Diplomatic Fun Fair

The Ministry of Tourism will host the 5th edition of the Diplomatic Fun Fair, under the theme “Celebrating Diplomacy and International Relations through Cultural Exchange.”

Speaking on Laka Radio, Ms Bessie Chelemu, Director for Culture and Traditional Affairs, highlighted that cultural tourism remains a key driver of Zambia’s economic growth and social development.

She noted that the festival fosters cross-cultural understanding while enhancing the livelihoods of local communities through creative and tourism sectors.

“The Diplomatic Fun Fair is an annual event that brings together Embassies, High Commissions, regional and international organisations, and local communities to celebrate and promote cultural diversity,” Ms Chelemu said.

She encouraged the public to attend the vibrant festival, where participating countries will showcase their unique heritage through music, art, cuisine, traditional attire, and performances.

She added that the event strengthens bilateral ties and promotes Zambia’s rich cultural heritage, positioning the nation as a premier tourism destination. This year, over 24 countries have confirmed participation, reflecting growing international interest in Zambia’s cultural offerings.

The 5th Diplomatic Fun Fair will take place on Saturday, 1 November 2025, at the Lusaka Showgrounds Main Arena from 08:00 to 17:00 hours.
