Emirates Launches Recruitment Drive for Zimbabwean Aircraft Technicians
Qualified aircraft technicians in Zimbabwe have the chance to join Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, as it seeks engineering talent in Harare this November. The airline will host information sessions on 12 and 13 November 2025, inviting both experienced and aspiring aircraft engineers to explore career opportunities in Dubai.
This recruitment initiative forms part of Emirates’ global drive to hire 17,300 professionals across 350 roles during the current financial year. Successful candidates will be based at the airline’s hub in Dubai, home to one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced fleets.
Emirates Country Manager for Zimbabwe, Omar Bushlaibi, highlighted the benefits of joining the airline: “Our engineers enjoy rewarding careers in Dubai, working on widebody aircraft as part of a multicultural team. The new ultra-modern engineering facility at Dubai World Central, which has seen an investment of US$950 million, will provide engineers with the opportunity to innovate and excel across the full spectrum of aircraft maintenance.”
The Emirates Engineering facility, expected to be completed by 2027, will cover over 1 million square metres and support maintenance, repairs, and conversions for Emirates’ fleet and third-party airlines. The facility will also serve as a centre of excellence for commercial aviation engineering services in the Middle East.
Emirates offers competitive, tax-free salaries, eligibility for profit share, comprehensive medical and life insurance, education allowances, and discounted flights for employees and their families. Staff also benefit from the Emirates Platinum Card, providing privileges and discounts across thousands of outlets worldwide.
Applicants must have an approved apprenticeship in commercial aircraft maintenance or equivalent and at least five years’ experience. The role involves maintenance of Emirates and third-party aircraft under the supervision of licensed engineers.
